Subject: Provincial Vaping Recommendation - Meeting

Hello everyone,

I am writing to coordinate a meeting for our team to discuss a new project. This meeting will be held on Jan. 26, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Brookes conference room. We have been appointed by the deputy minister to provide recommendations on whether or not we should prohibit the sale and use of vaping products in Saskatchewan.

In the meeting we will go over our overall strategy, accountabilities, deliverables and the deadline for each stage of the project. As the team lead, I encourage you to come prepared with ideas on how to plan and execute the minister’s request. Our focus and engagement as a team may bring positive and exciting change to the province.

The urgency of this meeting comes from the impact of vaping on public health. There have been recent news reports about the negative health effects and even fatalities connected with vaping. Vaping is an important issue affecting our communities. Therefore, the deputy minister has given us one week to complete this task.

This will require research and analysis by our team to help ensure the province makes an informed decision when developing a new clear policy.

Our team consists of:

Jackson Benning, senior health advisor

Kaitlin Vice, assistant media relations advisor

Paulina West, senior policy analyst

Alex Reath, director of stakeholder relations

Arthur Lanes, director of provincial research projects

While we have only one week to complete our project, I have faith we can do a thorough analysis for a proper recommendation with our skilled team. I’ll see you tomorrow so we can get started together!

Sincerely,

Arthur Lanes

director of provincial research projects

Ministry of Health, Saskatchewan
