Subject: Introduction as New CEO

Hello employees,

It is a pleasure to be your new CEO, and I am thrilled to work with you at Tomlinson Insurance. When being granted this position, I thought of the immense responsibility it would entail. However, I am thankful to be trusted for this significant role. I am coming from a background in financial policy, and I grew up in the great city of Toronto. I will give my best effort in continuing the passion of past-CEO Marsha Miller.

I’d like to congratulate Marsha on her well-deserved retirement. She has achieved countless accomplishments during her seven-year tenure as your CEO. Her commitment to enhancing the quality and diversity of Tomlinson’s workforce shows in the work you do. The vibrancy of our team is outstanding, and I am proud to be able to work with you. Her incredible commitment to controlling costs has left a strong legacy on which I only hope to build. Under her stable leadership, Tomlinson has become a trusted performance-driven company. I wish her the best for the future.

Now, I understand that this transition may be difficult for some. I hope you will find peace of mind knowing that I promise to give my highest level of dedication and support possible. I intend to elevate this company to a new standard of excellence.

To me, excellence is not perfection. It means consistently achieving results that exceed expectations. My goal is to ensure that you feel empowered to deliver a high quality of performance repeatedly. Our rising shareholder value, consistent cost control, expanding market share and increasing profits are all possible with your excellence each day. When you come to work, you can delight your customers with high-level service, meeting their needs beyond expectation. Set an example that will, in turn, attract the best and brightest employees to work alongside you. You have the power to grow this company, but it starts with dedication.

Inspired minds inspire others, and this style of leadership will be our new strategy for success moving forward. You can learn from others every day, no matter their position to your own. This will create increasingly engaged, proactive employees. Taking the initiative to solve problems, seize opportunities and inspire others will make Tomlinson a company of leaders. As leaders, you should take responsibility for your actions and remain accountable for your commitments to the company and our customers. I have a passion for inspiring leadership and will remain committed to making this a reality in our offices.

Unfortunately, this development may not be easy. It requires opening your minds to possibilities and changes. Tomlinson faces challenges, including fierce competitors, a tough economy and slow population growth. Acquiring new, younger customers will be difficult in the years to come but showing our excellence will make us stand out from the rest. Excellence and leadership will help to ensure a prosperous future.

I firmly believe in this company’s success, despite the challenges we may face. In the coming weeks, I will be assembling a new management team to assist in achieving this vital goal.

My commitment to you, as employees, is unwavering. I will do everything in my power to provide you with the tools and executive support necessary to do your job effectively. In return, all I ask is for your commitment to excellence and accountability. Together we will achieve the vision of making Tomlinson great. Please be excited to hear about new updates around the country on my biweekly blog. It will be an honour to lead you and learn from you as we embark on this new chapter together.

Sincerely,

Jason Halifax

CEO, Tomlinson Insurance Ltd.
